How can I check that an estate agency is registered?
In the register of brokers kept by the Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK), public on its Digitalna komora portal. The agency's register number must also appear in the brokerage contract (Real Estate Brokerage Act, Arts. 12 and 17).
Which agency has the most flats for rent in Zagreb?
On NajamStanova.com the most active rental listings are currently from Zagreb4U (263 listings), Imperium Immobiliare (225 listings) and Carlton nekretnine (149 listings) (as of 29 Oct 2026). This is by number of listings, not by quality.
How much do agencies charge?
Of 300 agency listings that state a fee, 85% ask one month's rent and 13% charge none; the rest ask another amount (as of 29 Oct 2026). Many listings don't state the fee, so check before a viewing.
What if an agency cheats me?
Report an agency's irregular practice to the State Inspectorate's market inspection, with its online form or through e-Građani (Real Estate Brokerage Act, Art. 34). If you paid in a scam, report it to the police too.
