How do you split rent fairly with a flatmate?

How should we split the bills?

Equally is simplest. If someone works from home a lot or runs their own heater, agree on a different ratio.

Who signs the lease?

Under Croatia's Housing Lease Act, a lease is made with one person, or exceptionally with both spouses. The other people living there should be named in the lease.
