See the flat in person before you pay anything. The lease is in writing, and the deposit, notice period and bills belong in it.
4. Register your address
If you stay longer than three months, you register your address with the police within 15 days of moving in. That needs a lease certified by a notary or the Tax Administration. EU citizens can instead ask the landlord to sign a form at the police. The landlord reports the lease to the Tax Administration within 8 days.
5. Know your rights
How a lease ends, when the deposit comes back and what a landlord may and may not do.
6. Move in
Record the flat's condition and the meters when you move in. Sharing? Agree who pays what.
