How to recognise our bot
The bot identifies itself as NajamStanovaBot. The full user agent is: NajamStanovaBot/1.0 (+https://najamstanova.com/bot). The link in it points to this page.
We index only real-estate agency websites. We don't index the big classifieds sites, portals or social networks. Before we enable a new site, we read its terms of use. If they forbid automated access or reuse of listings, we don't index the site.
What we collect, and what we never collect
We collect:
- listing facts: the rent and its changes, utilities, deposit and agency fee as the ad states them, size, rooms and bedrooms, floor, furnishing, heating, energy class, the pet policy and the move-in date,
- the location as the ad states it: neighbourhood, street and coordinates, when the page contains them,
- the agency's name as the advertiser,
- the listing's URL and the URLs of up to 12 of its photos.
We never collect or copy:
- the listing's description text (we write our own short summary from the facts),
- photos: we never download, store or serve them from our server,
- agents' names, phone numbers or email addresses,
- anything behind a login, paywall or bot protection.
When we can't reliably read the rent, size or rooms from a page, we send the page's text, without phone numbers, email addresses and links, and the page's address to an AI model through the OpenRouter service (today a model from OpenAI on Microsoft Azure servers in the EU). It extracts only the facts. We don't store the text itself and don't use it to train AI models, and neither OpenRouter nor the model provider keeps it after processing or trains on it.
How the bot behaves
- It respects robots.txt and Crawl-delay.
- It sends at most one request at a time per domain, at least 2 seconds apart.
- It runs in bounded passes, with a cap on the number of requests.
- It stops when it gets a 429 or 503 response.
- It never bypasses a CAPTCHA or other bot protection. When it meets one, it ends its visit to that site.
Machine-readable reservations we honour
- Content-Signal in robots.txt: with search=no we don't index the site, and with ai-input=no we don't use AI to extract data from its pages. We never use the data to train AI models.
- TDMRep: a /.well-known/tdmrep.json file, a tdm-reservation header or a tdm-reservation meta tag with the value 1. We skip the pages they cover. A value on the page itself overrides the file.
- The X-Robots-Tag header, or the robots or NajamStanovaBot meta tag: with noindex or none we skip the page, and with noimageindex we show no photos of that listing.
Photos
A card shows one photo and the listing details at most six, always loaded directly from your server (hotlinking). The browser sends our domain, https://najamstanova.com/, as the referrer, and we never hide it, so you can block our image requests with a standard rule.
If you'd like your listings to stay but without photos, choose the "No photos" option when you opt out.
Opting your site out
Enter your domain and email address and choose "Remove everything" or "No photos". The opt-out takes effect immediately: with "Remove everything", listings from your site disappear from NajamStanova.com and the bot stops visiting it; with "No photos", we delete the stored photo URLs and stop showing them. There is no further verification and no questions asked. We confirm by email.
We keep a "Remove everything" opt-out for good, so it also covers a site we don't index yet. If you prefer, email the address in the Imprint instead; we then apply the opt-out within 24 hours. Send any questions about the bot to the same address.
Information for agencies (Art. 14 GDPR)
- Who: the controller is Klarfels, the operator named in the Imprint.
- What: the agency's name (a sole trader's business name is personal data), the listing facts, and the URLs of the listing and its photos.
- Why: to index public listings and send tenants to the original ad. The legal basis is legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Recipients: the processors listed in the Privacy policy, and OpenRouter and the AI model provider only when AI processes a page's text, including transfers outside the EU.
- How long: we show a listing while it is live at the source; after that, we keep its facts for price statistics and price history, and delete them 12 months after we last saw the listing. We keep the opt-out record indefinitely so we can keep honouring it.
- Right to object: you can object to indexing at any time by opting your site out. Your other rights, including the right to complain to a supervisory authority, are described in the Privacy policy.
