Sigečica is a neighbourhood in the Trnje district, framed by Ulica grada Vukovara to the north, Heinzelova to the east, Slavonska avenija to the south and Avenija Marina Držića to the west. Radnička cesta cuts across it diagonally, leaving Zagrebtower and the city emergency-medicine institute on its eastern side. It took shape after the First World War, while Zagreb was spreading fast to the south-east, as a settlement of small family houses. The neighbouring settlement of Kanal, between Vukovarska and the railway embankment, grew up alongside it.
Many of its streets are named after Adriatic islands, among them Rapska, Paška, Hvarska, Korčulanska and Mljetska ulica. On Avenija Marina Držića, along the western edge, stands the Church of the Holy Family, seat of a parish founded in 1937. Neighbouring Kanal takes its name from a filled-in city drainage canal: the City of Zagreb says it was filled in along today's Držićeva in 1931, while a 2024 geography study says Radnička cesta was built on its line.
Ulica grada Vukovara, on the northern edge, was widened and laid out under the 1953 city plan. South of Slavonska avenija lies Savica, with its city market. Trams run along the northern and western edges, on Vukovarska and Držićeva, and Zagreb Bus Station is on Držićeva, about half a kilometre north-west of the church.
