Vrapče is a neighbourhood on the western side of Zagreb, in the Podsused – Vrapče district. It is where Ilica ends: the street runs from Trg bana Jelačića past Črnomerec out to Vrapče, where it continues as Aleja Bologne. The Vrapčak stream flows down from Medvednica through the neighbourhood. Vrapče is divided into Gornje Vrapče, Vrapče – centar and Vrapče – jug; Vrapče – jug, south of the railway, belongs to the Stenjevec district.
Vrapčanska ulica leads north from Ilica to Gornje Vrapče, a hillside, less built-up settlement on the slopes of Medvednica that is also home to the Vrapčanski potok shooting range. Bolnička cesta runs through Vrapče too and carries on west towards Gajnice. The Vrapče library is on Ulica Majke Terezije, and Gornje Vrapče has its own small library outpost.
At Bolnička cesta 32 is the Vrapče psychiatric clinic (Klinika za psihijatriju Vrapče). It was built in 1878–79 as the Stenjevec asylum (Zavod za umobolne Stenjevec) to a design by the architect Kuno Waidmann. The first patients arrived on 15 November 1879, when the site lay six kilometres west of Zagreb on the road to Podsused. The hospital complex is a protected heritage site. No tram reaches Vrapče; the nearest terminus is at Črnomerec, further east along Ilica, from where buses also run up to Gornje Vrapče. Trains towards Zaprešić call at the Vrapče stop.
